Instructions
Preparation
- Stand holding lever bar with shoulder width overhand or mixed grip.
Execution
- Elevate shoulders as high as possible. Lower and repeat.
Comments
- Since this movement becomes more difficult as full shoulder elevation is
achieved, a height criteria for shoulder elevation may be needed. For
example, raising the shoulders until the slope of the shoulders become
horizontal may be considered adequate depending upon individual body
structure

- Trapezius, Upper (Shoulder (Upper), Upper Traps)

Synergists: A muscle that assists another
muscle to accomplish a movement.
- Trapezius, Middle (Back (Upper), Traps)

- Levator Scapulae (Shoulder (Upper), Neck (Rear))

Stabilizers: A muscle that contracts with
no significant movement to maintain a posture or fixate a joint.
