Soak
glutinous rice in 1 liter of water for 8 hours or overnight. Drain the
rice and reserve the water.

In
a blender or food processor, grind the rice until it is smooth and has
the consistency of dough.

Add
just enough of the reserved water when grinding so the rice mixture
turns.

Place
the remaining 1 1/2 liters water in a pot and bring to the boil. When
water boils, drop the patties in one at a time, making sure they don't
stick together.

Patties
are cooked once they float on the surface.

Remove
with a slotted spoon
and drain.

Do
not stack them as they may stick together.

Mix
grated coconut and sugar.

Roll
the cooked patties in mixture and serve.
