Brain Boosting Ingredients

As the body ages, so does the brain. Well, don’t fret about it, a healthy active lifestyle, positive attitude can prevent memory deterioration., According to researchers, twenty minutes of activity each day can prevent memory deterioration.

Also a few well-chosen supplements and food can help keep the mind sharp.

  • Antioxidants- Protect your brain with zinc, selenium, and Vitamins A, C, and E.
  • B Vitamins- Folate, Vitamins B6 and B12, are especially important for keeping homocysteine levels in check. Homocysteine, a metabolite of methionine, can compromise cardiovascular health, and increase the risk of mental decline if levels become too high.
  • Phosphatidylserine (PS)- This phospholipid occurs naturally in the brain, but studies have confirmed that PS can be taken as a supplement to improve concentration, memory, learning ability, and even mood.
  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine- May slow down and possibly even prevent age-related mental decline.
  • Fish Oil- Individuals with a higher intake of omega-3 fatty acids, like those found in fish oil, have been shown to have reduced risk for cognitive impairment.
  • Garlic (Allium sativum)- This herb is a remedy against high cholesterol, high homocysteine levels, inflammation, and high blood pressure—which are factors contributing to heart disease and dementia.
  • Ginkgo (G. biloba)-  research has shown that ginkgo can improve your memory further.
  • Green and black tea (Camellia sinensis)- Loaded with antioxidants, these teas may cut your risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Hawthorne (Crataegus, various species)- This herb boosts circulation—helping bring more blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the brain.
  • Huperzine A (from Huperzia serrata)- Studies have shown huperzine A to improve memory, and it is currently being investigated as a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s disease.
