ECOTOURISM GUIDELINES
Whether you are the motorbike, motorcycle and adventure tour rider or other
kinds of tourism customer, you should practice the ecotourism guidelines in
Indochina.
1. Photographs. Always ask before taking close-ups or portraits. Respect those who choose not to be photographed. 2. Dress Modestly. Please wear shirts that cover the shoulders and pants or skirts that cover your knees. Shirts with a low neckline are not appropriate. 3. Gifts. Please do not give anything to children as this practice encourages begging. Also, do not give medicine to anyone but a doctor or a nurse. 4. Wildlife Products. Hunting and the sale of wildlife products endangers many species of animals native to Vietnam. You can help by simply not buying or eating wildlife products. 5. Respect Local Traditions. Please do not touch anything that may be of religious significance, such as spirit gates, altars and burial grounds. 6. Purchasing Local Crafts. Please do not purchase unique items such as books, antiques or family heirlooms that may be irreplaceable. 7. Drugs. Please do not do drugs in Vietnam. Drug tourism does damage. 8. Sex tourism. Sex tourism is illegal in Vietnam and subject to heavy penalty. |
